Everyone Loves a Good Refrigerator
We had our annual new year’s eve bash this year and it went splendidly. Since I’m eight months pregnant my husband volunteered to do just about everything and I had the relatively easy job of picking up, vacuuming, and dusting the living room. My husband even went to the trouble of getting the vacuum and the pvc pipe attachments (home made for this purpose) and cleaning out the spider webs in the ceiling and the front windows. Our house is A frame with 23 foot ceilings in the middle so this is quite a job.
Everything looked great but as guests started to trickle in I was surprised to see the object of their desire focused on a different fixture than usual. I tend to get a lot of compliments on our fireplace or the kitchen in general but this year it was much more specific.
One guest after another gravitated toward our refrigerator and by half way through the night I had racked up five different comments about how great it was. A few guests even stood before it opening the doors and the freezer and commenting about its spaciousness. This particular refrigerator is a Kenmore stainless with two doors on top and a drawer freezer underneath.
I was surprised and a little amused that it got so much attention. I was also grateful that I had taken the time the day before to clean it out and wipe off all the shelves so that the admiring public didn’t have to cope with the spills of our leftovers that previously graced the glass shelving.
Who knew? The lesson here - everyone appreciates a good refrigerator so before you take the time to clean up the rest of your house be sure your most basic functional equipment gets a good sparkle and shine.
